Dr Nelson S. Chipangamate is a postdoc fellow at the Wits Mining Institute's Successful Application of Technology Centred Around People Research Centre. He has vast experience researching on the role of technology in sustainability, ESG, just energy transition, critical minerals and materials, stakeholder engagement, and health and safety in extractives. Dr Chipangamate is curious to understand how technology can address 21st Century challenges in a sustainable way without compromising ethics, the environment and the people's wellbeing. He has worked with governments, civil society organisations and private firms in Africa, Latin America, Australia and Canada.
